Haverhill Baptist Day School
Policies due to Covid -19
Preschool Children
  • Children must stay with the same teacher all day and may not mix with other classes.
  • For this reason children cannot come to school before 7:30am each day.
  • Preschool begins at 8:30am – do not be late!
  • There will be an Arrival Station on the porch way in front of the office where your child will be screened before entering school. Parents must wear a mask. Parents will be asked:
  • Has your child exhibited any of the following symptoms in the past 24 hours? If so they must stay home.

Fever or Chills

Muscle or body aches

Congestion or runny nose

Nausea or vomiting

Loss of taste of smell

Sore Throat

Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

  • Has your child had close contact with someone with Covid-19? If so they must stay home for 14 days after exposure.
  • The station monitor will then make a visual inspection of the child for signs of illness which could include flushed cheeks, rapid breathing or difficulty breathing (without recent physical activity), fatigue or fussiness.
  • If no symptoms exist the parent will then sign the child in and a worker will take the child to class. Parents cannot enter the building.

What will be done to limit risk of infection in the classrooms?

  • Children will stay in the same classroom and with the same teacher for the entire day.
  • There will be a hall monitor who will clean, sanitize, and disinfect bathrooms, surfaces and objects that are frequently touched several times a day.
  • Only toys that can be cleaned will be used and they will be disinfected twice a day.
  • All students will wash their hands
    • At arrival to the facility
    • Before and after eating snacks and lunch.
    • After using the bathroom
    • After playing outdoors
  • The hall monitor will be sure that the students wash their hands properly.
  • Children must bring their own snacks and lunch, and they will eat in their classroom.
  • Teachers will wear a mask all day long.

  • Parent will come to the table by the office door and knock. Parent must be wearing a mask.
  • An office employee will get your child from the classroom and bring them out to you at the table.
  • You will then sign your child out in the Attendance Book.

What if my child has Covid-19?

Notify the school right away. Depending on your healthcare provider’s advice and availability of testing, you might get tested to see if you still have COVID-19. If you will be tested, you can be around others when you have no fever, respiratory symptoms have improved, and you receive two negative test results in a row, at least 24 hours apart.
