Sonshiners Leader: Gloria Searfoss
In September 1983 the Haverhill Baptist Senior Adult group called the “Sonshiners” was organized by our then Minister of Education, Roger Hazel. There were 31 Charter Members.
This group became a mission of the church and in 1988 the church voted to add to its Constitution this senior adult ministry. Their vision is to minister to the senior adults of our community and church with the gospel message, fellowship and mission action. The Sonshiners meet each month on the 3rd Tuesday for a potluck lunch, to conduct necessary business and oftentimes to enjoy some form of entertainment. All adults 55+ are most welcome.
